Local Community Support

EYES AND EARS FOR THOSE IN NEED
If you have a need, know of a need, or know of a missions opportunity needing finances, please feel free to inquire about our Tithing Fund. Our church sets aside 10% of our weekly income for the sake of ministry. The chair of the Tithing Committee and the first to call is Pat Betzold. Others on the team are Pat Day, Pat Hansen, and Corinne Simonson. These monies are for ministry in our community and in the lives of those who need God's love demonstrated, and you are our eyes and ears. Although Pastor Pat can be approached with needs, it is best to go directly to the committee.

"He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. 'Is that not what it means to know me?' declares the LORD.'"       Jeremiah 22:16

Pastor Visits

"For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory"      1 Thessalonians 2:11-12

The staff and members of Christ UMC are all committed in providing care and support to all people who express a need. Let the pastor know if you would like a visit, or if you, a friend, or a loved one is going to be hospitalized. We will make every effort to help you in your time of need with Prayers, Friendship and Christian Care.

Evangelism

"He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'"      Luke 10:2

Our church is in a growing area. We reach out to both new and long-time residents in a variety of ways.

  • Visitations to our first-time visitors
  • Public invitations to special music programs, worship services, dinners, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and our annual picnic.
  • Door to door out-reach
  • A booth at the Cannon Valley Fair where we distribute Christian literature for both children and adults
  • Missions activities, such as the area food shelf, women's shelter, and help for local families in need
